SIMPLE PAINLESS TAX SOLUTION

Wednesday, June 11, 2003 EDITORIAL: Tax credit welfare

Most people don’t realize – THERE IS NO SALES TAX ON ADVERTISING.

IF ALL STATES HAD A 5% SALES TAX ON ADVERTISING IT WOULD BRING IN ABOUT $30 BILLION PER YEAR.

What would it cost – we would be subjected to 5% LESS ADS.

I have talked to the RJ Editorial writes about it, but they don’t WANT to understand.

So, I will change SOME of the words in their - Wednesday, June 11, 2003 EDITORIAL: Tax credit welfare.

The title of this is Tax Credit – Corporate Welfare.

Advertisers pay NO Sales Tax.

“In most circles, that's called welfare -- a redistribution of income from those who pay taxes to those who don't.”

“It's a giveaway, pure and simple.”

Any time, anyone DOESN’T pay their share of taxes, it is called a Subsidy.

Why should the taxpayers be expected to SUBSIDIZE Advertising.

“And while the Bush administration favors giving the child tax credit to those who don't pay any taxes, many two-income families with children and a hefty tax burden are ineligible to take the credit themselves -- the credit phases out as people earn more. Working Americans whose incomes are approaching the level at which the phase-outs kick in have an incentive to pull back ... to work, save and invest less. Otherwise, their tax bills will go up, literally taking money out of their pockets because they have decided to become more productive.”

See what I mean – The CRYBABY that wrote that paragraph is saying – give ME MORE. I could care less who it hurts.

Workers that earn between $10,500 and $27,000 get ZERO.

They want to increase to full benefit also to married couples who make up to $150,000.

The benefit currently starts to disappear for couples that make $110,000 or more.

“As The Wall Street Journal noted this week, such perverse outcomes are to be expected "from dabbling with 'tax credits' and other non-marginal tax policy. They (tax credits) are essentially handouts that amount to acts of political favoritism ... . " “

Well, they have THAT right.

But, isn’t a $30 Billion – PER YEAR, or as politicians LOVE to say –

$300 Billion, over 10 years.

Isn’t that a LOT for us to pay for a “HANDOUT” for Advertisers.

All I am doing is – getting it off my chest. I KNOW it will Never be printed in the RJ.

They are to busy working on their – Push to Legalize Dope in NV.
